Public Relation and education
NOA reaches the public through campaigns such as those organised during world sight day and world glaucoma week. Our website provides easy-to-navigate information on the importance of regular eye exams and eye health. We engage the media with information regarding vision, the welfare of members, news releases and alerts, and coordinate public speaking and media opportunities for our members. We also help you reach out to your existing and potential patients via our website, free professional communications materials including brochures, fact sheets and lots more.
NOA has engaged FBN Insurance to provide Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII) policy for members. While we sensitize members on the need to make this policy compulsory we encourage every optometrist who wants to protect his practice and practice with confidence to key into this policy which has started. If you practice optometry, you have a legal requirement to hold professional indemnity insurance that meets the registration standard.
Continuing education and Networking
Each year the NOA organizes a Continuing Education and Networking Conference. This popular three-day event offers top-quality speakers from across Nigeria and other countries to provide optometric education for both Doctors of Optometry and their staff as well as create avenues for networking and business development among members. It is usually a great opportunity to learn new developments in the eye care sector and to meet friends we have lost touch with for years.
As a member of NOA, we also provide newly graduated and younger members a 25% discount on the Conference registration fees. For details on special rates available to you through your NOA membership, please contact us.
NOA provides a Family Assistance/welfare Program that offers benefits to our members when in difficulty. NOA also provides the tools Optometrists need to build and support their practice and makes them available at no charge to members.
NOA now has an alliance with the First Bank of Nigeria Insurance to provide its suite of market leading Group Life Assurance (GLA) for members with Medical Expenses Benefit.
