Dr (Mrs) Priscilla Uhuanmwen Imade has an O.D, an MSc.PH and is currently a doctoral student having schooled across three universities in Nigeria and America. She has attended numerous seminars, workshops and conferences both locally and internationally, acquiring International Certification in Community Eye Health and currently training with Unite for Sight, a US-based NGO. Through her presentations at both local and international conferences, Dr Imade has been advancing the practice of optometry in Nigeria, deploying her resources in the service of humanity.
She is a founding member of the Education committee of the NOA in Lagos, currently serves in the Public Health Committee of the NOA, chairs the Women Optometrists in Nigeria (WON), Lagos chapter, and is the current Assistant Secretary of the Health Care Providers Association of Nigeria (HCPAN) through which she has had an unquantifiable impact in optometry’s development especially in the areas of advocating for and projecting optometry in government circles through the NHIS, HMOs and other health care providers across various professions.
Dr Priscilia Imade is a consummate professional with excellent research and writing skills, and a detail- directed problem solver with an unrivalled hunger for excellence. Versatile and experienced, she has a track record of achievements all geared towards the development of optometry in Nigeria.
As an On-Air Personality, Dr Imade presents EYECARE WITH DR PRISCILIA IMADE on Lagos State Television, anchors EYECARE and DRIVING related issues on Lagos Traffic FM Radio, anchored EYE CARE WITH DR IMADE on Citimail magazine and, WOMEN’S WORLD-a television programme on MITV. She is a regular occupational health and eye health safety guest on Voice of Women and Galaxy Today on Galaxy Television, Lagos State. A writer and reviewer, Dr Imade is dynamic, proactive, and has the ability to transmit knowledge through training courses, providing Public Health Consultancy Services through a number of platforms. She has organized several occupational health, safety and eye health talks/seminars/workshops, for various institutions, organizations (local and international), schools, churches and clubs. She currently provides consultancy services and occupational eye health and safety for several driving schools and other multinational companies.
Chief Executive Officer of Modern Eye Clinic, Lagos, she has used the platform to promote her vision in
preventive eye care through vision care services to the public. Her regular seminars on “Children Vision
Care”, “School Vision Screening programme”, “Driving and Eye Care” organized for students, workers and
motorists made her very popular in her community.
Dr Imade’s contributions have been recognized across various segments of the society beginning from her student days in NOSA. She is a serial Recognition Award recipient in NOA Lagos and the world-renowned Glaxo SmithKline honoured her as a WOMEN OF INFLUENCE in 2011. A quintessential mother and wife, Dr Imade is currently the Assistant National Secretary of the NOA.
