Dr Oluchi is Doctor of Optometry from the Imo State University, Owerri. She holds a professional certificate in Business Management and Entrepreneurship from the Sean Cussons Business School, and has professional experience and expertise acquired through over a decade of practicing in both public and private sectors. An astute manager and men and resources, a standout public speaker, and public health promoter.
She has been saddled with several leadership responsibilities both within and outside optometry. She has served as
a Coordinator, Refractive/Low Vision Group of the NOA, Imo State Chapter, making impressive marks that earned her the Best Group Leader Award in 2015. Her extraordinary commitment to the profession of optometry led to her appointment to lead coordinate the New NOA Imo, a branding project aimed at reviving the fortunes of the NOA in Imo state. Her ingenuity and dynamism in this assignment significantly improved the perception and performance of N.O.A Imo within the comity of NOA chapters in Nigeria as Imo became the toast of the NOA. She has, through various platforms, contributed immensely to strengthening delivery and increasing access to eye care services to children, women, youths, the elderly and other segments of the Nigerian populace, both in rural and urban areas, through her strategic engagements and participation in several intervention programmes aimed at promoting quality eye care delivery in Nigeria.
As CSR coordinator for the NOA in Imo state, she has been able to successfully broker partnership with the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) resulting in the training of Nigerian optometrists by the Institute for Health Insurance and Managed Care of Nigeria. An active member of the Women Optometrists in Nigeria (WON), Dr. Oluchi has contributed immensely to its progress and development. She served as Chapter Chair of WON in Imo State, using the platform to make WON a more visible and relevant partner to the state government, and relevant government agencies in Imo State and beyond. She was a Guest Speaker at the 2017 International Women’s Day event in Imo state organised by the wife of the Executive Governor of Imo State, Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha, on March 8, 2017.
Dr Oluchi is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Umezuruike Eye Clinic, Owerri, Imo state; a platform through which she provides value- adding eye health and vision care services to Nigerians. A Christian leader, marriage counselor, fulfilled wife and mother, Dr. Oluchi John-Isiodu currently serves as the Vice President (East) of the NOA.
